As we advance in life it becomes more and more difficult, but in fighting the difficulties the inmost strength of the heart is developed. Vincent Van Gogh

Who You'd Be Today
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
Wear the pain like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go
See your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughing in the rain
Still can't believe your gone
(Chorus:)It ain't fair you died to young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I've been through
Just knowing, no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder, who you'd be today
Would you see the world
Would you chase your dreams
Settle down with a family
I wonder what would you name your babies
Someday's the sky's so blue
I feel like I can talk to you
And I know it might sound crazy
(Chorus)It ain't fair you died to young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I've been through
Just knowing, no one could take your place
Sometimes I wonder, who you'd be today
Today
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know, I'll see you again someday
Someday, someday

Photo Friday--The Road
Here is my entry into PhotoFriday for Fri May 19, 2006. This weeks challenge is "The Road"
What I really wanted to do for this is have my friend Abby hold up her father's original Abbey Road album by the Beatles. I was going to take a picture of her holding it on the road that she lives on. But I ran out of time. The next challenge starts tomorrow so here is the second choice.
This is also my 200th post.

Power Outage
We lost power from the storm yesterday around 4:30 PM. They did not get it back on until 5:30 AM. So making a post was a little hard. It is strange how much you take having electricity for granted. I was walking into rooms and flipping the light on without thinking that the power was off. Weird.

Computer Problems Update
My computer is now fixed. Can you believe it was just the power supply? I replaced it tonight with an older computer in my basement. Thank goodness for spare parts. Anyway, I am going to resume posting more regularly. Thanks for sticking with me these last few weeks.

Historical Oil Well
I was driving out in rural Christian County the other day. I noticed an oil well, not unlike a lot of the oil wells you see pumping away in the Central Illinois farmland. I have always wondered what they do with this oil. Interestingly, this oil pumping station had a sign declairing that it was a historical marker. I took some photos of this setup. With the way oil prices are I though some would like to see an actual oil pumping station right here in Central Illinois.
The sign says:
"This well was drilled in 1955. It produced over 350,000 bbls. of crude oil which made 15 million gal. of gasoline and diesel.
As of 2005, this well is producing 240 gal. of gasoline and diesel per day..."

Springfield Horizons
Driving into work on Sunday, I saw some neat cloud formations. This is the Springfield horizon from the view of Route 29 before you get to Rochester. Notice some famous landmarks. The first photo contains CWLP stacks and the second you can get a small glimpse of the Hilton and the New State Capital Building.
